How our Bladder Leaks & Incontinence treatment works
Do you leak urine when you cough, sneeze or engage in sports activities? With incontinence and sexual dysfunction affecting so many men and women in the world today, Vital Rejuvenation is excited to introduce a breakthrough technology from BTL Industries – BTL Emsella!
Bladder leaks and incontinence are more prevalent in women than in men due to reasons such as pregnancy, childbirth and menopause, but there are other issues that can contribute like medications, too much caffeine, weight gain and the natural process of aging that can affect men and women equally. Incontinence is caused by weakening of the muscles within the pelvic floor region. Although extremely common, a lot of people do not seek help, which can have a dramatic effect on self-esteem and confidence.

Many factors can lead to incontinence such as an aging body, childbirth menopause in women and prostate issues in men
Emsculpt Neo works by using radiofrequency technology heat to burn fat. The heat that is created by radiofrequency brings fat cells to 41 degrees Celsius, which causes death of the fat cell, also called “apoptosis”. High-intensity focused electromagnetic waves also work to build muscle providing you with over 20,000 muscle contractions in a 30-minute session!
Pelvic floor muscles weaken over time and insufficiently support pelvic organs and affect bladder control and poor sexual health
Having Emsella at Vital Rejuvenation effectively stimulates your pelvic floor muscles with thousands of contractions per session
Stimulation leads to stronger pelvic floor muscles which give you regained control over your bladder issues and other ‘sexual health’ benefits
The most common reasons women have incontinence and bladder leaks is pregnancy, childbirth and menopause, but there are other issues that can contribute, such as, certain medications, excessive caffeine and recent weight gain. Most of these issues cause the female pelvic floor to sag and weaken over time. Emsella strengthens that pelvic floor muscle by simulating over 12000 Kegel exercises in just 28 minutes. Over time that pelvic floor muscle will strengthen giving you back control.

The overall prevalence of incontinence and bladder leakage in men is certainly lower than that for women, but it is an issue for many. The most prominent symptom in men is urge incontinence which is reported in 40% to 80% of male patients. Next is a mix of urge and stress which affects 10% to 30% of male patients. One of the most common causes of male incontinence and bladder leakage is some type of prostate surgery, an enlarged prostate, some neurological injury or trauma. Emsella at Vital Rejuvenation is also FDA Approved for male bladder leakage and incontinence. Similar to females, the treatment strengthens the male pelvic floor by simulating Kegel exercises. Over a series of treatments, the male pelvic floor muscle which holds up the bladder, rectum and prostate will lift and will result in more control.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is stress incontinence?
Stress incontinence is the most common type of urinary incontinence. It refers to urine leakage during exertion or movement (coughing, laughing, sneezing jumping, etc.) The main cause of stress incontinence is vaginal childbirth or menopause. Stress incontinence occurs when the tissues that support the bladder are stretched or weakened, allowing the bladder to exert pressure downward on the sphincter muscles that keep the urethra shut. This prevents the muscles from closing as tightly as they need to for urinary retention during physical stress.
Stress incontinence can be improved by strengthening the tissues and muscles that support the bladder. Emsella at Vital Rejuvenation engages the pelvic floor by giving you 12,000 Kegel exercises in just 28 minutes. By strengthening that muscle you begin to gain that control you once had. It really is life changing for so many people who suffer with this issue.
What is urge incontinence?
Urge incontinence refers to a sudden “urge” to urinate followed by the involuntary loss or urine. Urge incontinence occurs when abnormal nerve signals cause the muscles in the bladder to contract. Urinary retention is lost when the overactive muscles of the bladder overpower the sphincter muscles that close the urethra.
Similar to stress incontinence, urge incontinence can be improved by strengthening the muscles that support the bladder. Pelvic floor exercises, commonly referred to as Kegels, which strengthen the muscles and tissue that support the bladder, are the most prescribed treatment for improving urinary incontinence. The Emsella treatment at Vital Rejuvenation uses HIFEM technology to give you 12,000 Kegels in just 28 minutes. After your recommended 6 sessions you’ll have the pelvic wall you had in your youth. Its truly a miracle treatment for most almost everyone.
Who isn't a good candidate for Esmella?
The Emsella treatment uses HIFEM technology (High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Stimulation), and because of this there are certain patient conditions we recommend against treating. If you have a pace maker, a drug pump or a neurostimulator implanted we recommend against treating with Emsella. Also if you have any metal implants near the pelvic area (including metal hip replacements and lumbar spine screws) we may recommend against treating. During your initial consultation with our Emsella Technician we will discuss any contraindications with you. If you are unsure about your specific issue please contact us at 386-238-9872 and we’ll be happy to discuss.
When will I see results?
As with any medical treatment, results may vary.* Some patients report an improvement in bladder control after one treatment with Emsella at Vital Rejuvenation. However, for most patients, the average treatment plan includes 6 treatments in total, with two sessions held weekly, for 3 weeks. Some patients report desired results toward the end of their 6 sessions, others report results a few weeks after the end of treatment. Every”body” is different, but research shows that 95% of patients who followed the average protocol reported an improvement in quality of life after just 3 weeks of Emsella, and that two thirds of the patients completely eliminated or reduced their need for pads.
Who is the right candidate for Esmella at Vital Rejuvenation?
BTL Emsella at Vital Rejuvenation is a great option for women or men of any age who desire a solution for urinary incontinence, bladder leakage and improvement in their quality of life. Its also a great idea to strengthen your pelvic floor wall at any age. In fact many of our patients are actually coming in for treatment BEFORE they see symptoms, as a preventative.
What causes incontinence & bladder leakage?
For women, the most common causes of bladder leakage include vaginal childbirth, body aging, and menopause. For men, incontinence can be brought on by medical conditions like an enlarged prostate, diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease. It can be common after some types of prostate surgery, too
When you urinate, contracting muscles force urine out of the bladder and down into the urethra. Simultaneously, sphincter muscles around the urethra relax to release the urine out of the body. Incontinence results when the muscles or nerves that help release or retain urine are damaged. The two most common types of urinary incontinence are stress urinary incontinence and urge incontinence. Both can be treated by Emsella at Vital Rejuvenation.
How does Esmella at Vital Rejuvenation work?
Emsella is the first, non-surgical device of its kind to gain FDA Approval for the treatment of urinary incontinence and vaginal laxity. Emsella is an ergonomic chair equipped with High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology (HIFEM®). During a treatment, the fully clothed patient sits on the chair. Electromagnetic energy then penetrates the pelvic floor, activating neurons that signal the pelvic muscles to contract. One treatment with Emsella at Vital Rejuvenation induces more than 12,000 supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions, or the equivalent of 12,000 Kegels. As a result, pelvic floor muscles are strengthened, the vaginal wall is tightened and the tissues that support the pelvic organs are rebuilt. This leads to a decrease in urge and stress incontinence, greater urine retention, and as an extra bonus, increased sexual satisfaction.
How long/how many sessions?
The experts at Vital Rejuvenation will tailor a personalized treatment plan for you. A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes and you will need 6 sessions, scheduled twice a week for three weeks. If your bladder leakage is severe we may recommend additional treatments, but normally 6 achieves desired results. Many patients will tell us they start to see benefits in as little as one treatment. The most common comments we hear is “I slept through the night without having to go to the bathroom” and “I had a coughing fit and nothing leaked!” We love hearing those.
How does it feel? Painful? Embarrasing?
This is the true beauty of the Emsella chair at Vital Rejuvenation. The procedure is fully non-invasive and you just sit on the Emsella chair fully clothed and properly positioned. Once the 28-minute session has started you will experience tingling and pelvic floor muscles’ contracting, it is completely painless. Your treatment room at Vital Rejuvenation is private and we offer a multitude of options to keep you entertained while sitting on your “Kegel Throne.” You may resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment.
What are some additional Emsella benefits?
How much does it cost?
In addition to being FDA Approved for incontinence and bladder leakage for both women and men, Emsella also has a number of “other benefits”. These are more sexual in nature but are a nice by product of the treatment. With the increased blood flow in the pelvic region and the strengthening of the pelvic wall many women experience increased sensitivity and lubrication, increased arousal and desire, decreased pain issues and increased satisfaction.
In men, studies are showing Emsella to be a great non-invasive treatment for erectile dysfunction and increased satisfaction.
Emsella strengthens your entire pelvic floor and increases bloodflow in the region. These “extra” benefits are currently under scientific study and there are a number of medical papers in review now on these additional benefits.
Emsella cost varies per patient, depending on the amount of sessions scheduled in their treatment protocol. During your complimentary consultation at Vital Rejuvenation, Emsella prices will be discussed in detail. If this treatment is right for you, we will help you customize a treatment plan that both meets your needs and matches your budget. We accept employer based FSA and HSA payments and even offer CareCredit which allows patients to pay the cost over time with no interest. We do our best to keep the treatment affordable for patients.
Emsella is really not that expensive and your quality of life is priceless.
